AmNet is here - The Network of the future dedicated to AMIGA users and
enthusiasts.
AmNet was started because there was a large space for a network which
caters for Amiga Users and offers amiga of echoes. Of course there is
Amiganet, but that - in my area in particular - was/is not very well
coordinatored. The Coordinators of AmNet believe that Amiga Users out there
want a defined and moderatored network. People have constantly criticised
Fidonet - there is little reason to do so. It is superior to any other
similar network around at the moment, and I am happy with it and Amiganet
and indeed all the 12 networks I am in. Yet there are no nets which manage
to cover the topics I WANT and LIKE with the control and ability to work
well that other nets have. Therefore AmNet was introduced.
So far there are fourteen echos. These are:
AmComms Amiga Communications
AmChat Amiga General Chat
AmPointing Amiga Points and Points Discusion
AmSysops Amiga Sysops
AmInfo Amiga News and Information
AmBBS_Users Amiga BBS Users & Adverts
AmSystem Amiga Workbench and Amigados discusion
AmBBS_SOFT Amiga BBS Software Discusion
AmMags Amiga Magazines Discussion
AmProg Amiga Programming Echo
AmPD Amiga PD Echo
AmCoords Amiga Coordinators!
AmWILD Wild Chat on anything!!
AmGames Amiga Games Discussion
All these echoes with the exception of AmWild are moderatored. The general
policy in all echoes is to allow HI-ASCII, but not handles. The moderators
of each individual echo will post rules in them to inform the users of the
exact rules. At the moment there are active mail feeds for all over
Britain, and we're looking to expand abroad... At present around 40-50
messages pass through it daily, and are topics bothe serious and
non-serious.
I have tried to fit in as much information as possible in here. If you
would like more information on AmNet then please logon to Creepys BBS at
anytime and page me. I should be around at nights after 21:30 and at
weekends and will be happy to answer any questions. Alternatively you may
contact me via netmail on 2:256/503 (fidonet), 240:360/306 (Mercurynet), or
AmigaNet 39:131/2 preferably crash mailed (+44(0)191 3832181). If you wish
to join then there is an Online Registration Form Creator on Creepys BBs.
